Abstract

Motivation, as a psychological phenomenon, is one of the key determinants of performance, especially when it comes to health organizations. Healthcare employees, due to the specific knowledge and skills they possess, cannot be motivated only by material factors, such as earnings. In order to ensure the growth of motivation, employees need to be awarded with those rewards that are related to instrinsic motivational factors. The aim of this paper is to examine the basic characteristics of intrinsic motivation in health care organizations in the Republic of Serbia. In accordance with the goal, a research was conducted, the results of which showed that the greatest importance for employees are training, job diversity and autonomy in work.
