Abstract

Information technology in the 21st century has a great influence on the development of the national economy both in terms of achieving it, and in the making it more efficient and implementable. Information and communication technology was the key factor in the transition from the era of industrial society to information society. In the conditions of strong market competition and globalization, it is very difficult to manually see all trends on the market, potential chances and dangers, the trend of growth and development, and many other economic indicators. Investing in information technology is an investment that can only have a positive outcome. The results are more efficient and quality performance for all processes in the economy of one country. For undeveloped national economies without industry, investment in information technology is a unique solution that allows GDP to increase without production material goods and services. A highly educated workforce and investment in technological resources are the key factors if the goal is to orientate the economy in this direction. Production and distribution of software, production and testing of hardware, as well as the implementation and organization of entire business information systems are highly needed on the global market. Investing in it, represents a breaking point in the development of the national economy, and at the same time the main condition for gaining competitive advantages.
