The paper is dedicated to the analysis of the impact of the corona virus pandemic on macroeconomic trends in Serbia. According to previous data, COVID-19 and the global slowdown had smaller consequences for Serbia compared to other European countries, due to healthy macroeconomic performance in the years immediately before the crisis and the specific structure of the Serbian economy. The shock caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in the global economy has certainly shown that non-economic and non-financial factors can have very significant economic and financial effects and can appear as triggers to start an economic recession. The Serbian government has taken several steps to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on health, the economy and society.
