Abstract

Of the many comprehensive challenges that humanity is facing today, one of the most significant and intense is related to understanding and shaping the new technological revolution. The new technological revolution touches if not all, then almost most aspects of our lives. Under the influence of technology and Industry 4.0, there are continuous changes in the labor market that primarily lead to the threat of those occupations that involve performing simpler tasks. Futurists' predictions point out that in the next three years, workers will have to master new skills in order to keep their jobs, since by 2025, work will be equally divided between machines and humans. These innovations lead to great innovations in the concept of work in the future, emphasizing the increasing changes in existing jobs, but also the creation of modern, hitherto unknown jobs. The countries of the Western Balkans are at a crossroads. In addition to the great impact of technology and digitalization on the need for new skills and lifelong learning, there is still a workforce that wholeheartedly defends its traditional jobs, unwilling to accept trends emerging under the influence of new technologies.
