Abstract

The emergence of the corona virus, declared a pandemic on March 11, 2020, by the World Health Organization (abbr. WHO), has had a negative impact on human lives around the world since it was first recorded in the Chinese city of Wuhan, in December 2019. The new situation led to a global lockdown of the population, preventing the performance of daily activities such as going to work, going to parks, places for recreation, shopping, and thus limiting the stay in public and private places. During the pandemic, governments implemented restrictions within countries to limit the movement of people and slow the spread of the virus. Spain, as a tourist country, is among the first countries to apply this type of ban. The pandemic has had enormous consequences on the economy in Spain, primarily because Spain is a leading country when it comes to tourism and hospitality. However, the ban on movement also meant an increase in the number of Internet users. This opened the door to the digital economy, i.e. the use of electronic services such as shopping online, paying bills, performing various transactions, etc. In this research, the comparative method will be applied, in order to compare the obtained data from different fields, as well as the compilation method, in order to download data and information from other authors.
