Abstract

This paper discusses the progress of technology and its impact on people's daily lives. Special attention is given to the Internet of Things (IoT) and its application in smart homes. IoT technology enables smart monitoring of processes in the home in real-time, identification of inconsistencies, and adjustment of processes to improve the quality of life, reduce costs in the home, and reduce waste. The automation of production processes and the use of computer networks in everyday life enable people to remotely control devices and create smart homes that provide a higher level of control over households. In the paper, we present the prices of some smart devices that can be purchased online worldwide and in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In this way, we wanted to show that smart home devices are no longer as expensive, and people in Bosnia and Herzegovina could buy them and save money while conserving energy. Finally, we present the basic advantages and disadvantages of applying smart home devices Smart home technology offers incredible possibilities. Its advocates argue that it will make our daily lives easier, while opponents warn that even the little privacy rights we had will disappear. By implementing smart home devices in daily life and work, the future has already begun.
