Abstract

Banking resources and aggregates include financial potential (sources of means) and financial investments (means) of a bank. Main aggregates of every bank are credit investments which carry a lesser or greater risk. Thus, it is necessary to manage the structure of the bank’s credit portfolio (scope, maturity, price, conditions of approval, purpose, collateral and the like.) It is important for bank aggregates to invest into securities which carry a certainty of investment return and collection of fixed interest rate. Banking resources include means sources such as: deposits, savings investments, debt capital and share capital of a bank. According to the contemporary banking theory, three factor groups influence the forming of banking resources: (1) macro-financial conditions (accumulation and savings), (2) institutional and structural components of the financial system (investment funds), (3) micro-financial sector (banks). Managing the portfolio structure of aggregates and resources of a bank includes the process of managing the bank’s assets and liabilities, and their reflection on the bank’s success balance (bank’s income and expenditure). A special place in the portfolio structure belongs to the bank’s capital and its fixed assets. An important place is reserved for productive assets, its profitability, bank’s capital adequacy, liquidity, bank’s security, the degree of bank’s management development, as well as the bank’s position on the financial market.
